1st Exercise - Why do we sit still?
« on: November 06, 2011, 04:38:35 pm »
Hello Helmar and everyone,

So I have been practicing exercise one for a week now...

I've heard that this sitting still lays the foundation for the following exercises but I was wondering why we must gain so much physical control when the exercises are mental in nature?

Many thanks

Alex

Hi Alex,

because if you do not have physical control, you will not have mental control - exceptions confirm the rule. Only if you aren't occupied with itching or twitching, with anything that needs to be addressed on a physical level first and which you notice because that's how the body works, only THEN will you be able to focus your thoughts, to concentrate deeply and to become aware of NOTHING ELSE. Only then are you able to become ONE with the object of your desire, not when your body calls for your attention.

That's why. :)

Peace and blessings,

Helmar
